"The mystery at the center of every life speaks the fundamental question--- What is it, in my heart, that I must do, be, and have? And why? At the same time I must explore why everything that irritates me about others can lead me to an understanding of myself"....C.G.Jung
Having difficulties with your relationships? Having trouble finding meaning in life?
I believe these two concepts are connected. I believe that everyone has the capacity, inside of them, to find both meaning and fulfilling relationships.
As an experienced psychodynamic and systems therapist, I believe that people evolve on two dimensions. One that is influenced by life experiences and the other by one's own unique nature. Where these two dimensions meet is often where exploration is needed.
My treatment approach is to provide support, insight, and goals to help clients address current life challenges and long standing issues. With compassion and understanding, I help individuals, couples, and families find resolution to a wide range of personal concerns as well as finding their true calling.
With an integration of Jungian and Object Relation approaches, I draw from a variety of methodologies and techniques, such as Dream Analysis and Family of Origin work. In a comfortable and supportive atmosphere, I offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each of my client's individual needs to help them attain individuation and thus true happiness.
Life could be thought of as a journey or adventure with many challenges, twists, turns, and peak experiences. Therapy is a personal investment we make in ourself. It can be a part of our life journey where we get to know ourself, understand ourself and others, and find the true meaning and purpose of ourlife. It can afford a person an opportunity to outgrow insecurities, discover his or her strengths, and become the best person possible.
Therapy is for everyone a place to learn and grow. The myths of therapy that need to be dispelled are that therapy is for “sick” or “crazy” people or that it is a sign of weakness to need or want to go. We are each born unique and special with a contribution to make. We do not come with an instruction manual on how to draw out our own humanity, enjoy the journey, and make the world a better place to live.
We are born with an ideal mind in a world that is far from ideal. Although life is not fair and it should be, we have an opportunity and I believe a responsibility to do our part to learn how to take care of ourself and create a balanced quality life. This is the philosophy by which I work with individuals, couples, families & groups.
